Upcoming Author Visit – Joey Pinkney Local author Joey Pinkney will be speaking at the Southeast Regional Library, on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. Joey Pinkney is the newly published author of the short story "Like Father, Like Son" which is featured in The Soul of a Man: A Triumph of My Soul Anthology. The Soul of a Man has been nominated for Best Short Stories/Anthologies for the 2009 African American Literary Awards Show to be held Thursday, September 24 in Harlem, NY. Joey Pinkney AKA "Favorite Book Reviewer's Favorite Book Reviewer... Period!" posts author interviews and book reviews on his website, http://joeypinkney.com, as well as other media outlets. His author interview series, "5 Minutes, 5 Questions With..." has featured over 100 authors of various genres, from the relatively unknown to Essence and New York Times Bestsellers. So…You Want to Go to College Program scheduled at Southeast Regional Library College Foundation of North Carolina representative, Sarita Broadway, will present a one hour workshop on college planning for middle and high school students and their parents at the Southeast Regional Library on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. Topics discussed will include career exploration and planning, academic preparation, and searching for the right college.
